I am Alecia Sparks. I’m 64 years old. I live in Reno, NV with my husband. We have 3 children, but they are all grown up and have children of their own. We have 12 grandchildren.
I spend my days gardening. I grow my own food in my garden and try to teach others in the community to do the same. It is the only way we can sustain life on this planet into the future.
I grow indoors year round. While I also grow outdoors, indoor growing is the key to sustainability. If we can grow vegetables year round, we can feed humanity.
I use an aquaponics system and use MH lights and HPS grow lights in combination. I also use fluorescent grow lights to supplement those lights and for my baby plants. I am currently considering moving to LED lighting and will document my experimentation with that new-fangled technology on this blog.
So if you’re interested in that or in sustainable gardening, i.e. growing your own food, please enjoy my posts!
And thanks for reading!
